Mazor Robotics, a pioneer and leader in the field of surgical guidance systems, announced today that Kornelis Poelstra, MD, PhD has successfully completed his 300th spine procedure with the Mazor X™ Robotic Guidance System. Mazor Robotics commercially released the Mazor X system in October 2016 at the North American Spine Society (NASS) Annual Meeting.

“Since introducing Mazor Robotics technology at the Spine Institute on the Emerald Coast in Destin, FL, I have seen a significant positive impact on my practice,” said Dr. Poelstra. “Executing a procedure that was planned with Mazor’s software allows for even the most difficult spine surgery to be comfortably executed in the OR with robotic guidance.”

Dr. Poelstra utilizes Mazor Robotics systems primarily for thoracolumbar fusions, but has also instrumented over 250 iliac bolts with the technology. Since 2015 when he began using the Mazor Core Technology, over 550 patients in his practice have benefitted from his use of Mazor guidance systems.
