Mazor Robotics’ Renaissance® Guidance System Achieves New Clinical Milestone

Orlando, Fla., March 1, 2016 – Mazor Robotics, a pioneer in surgical guidance systems for spine and brain surgery, announced today a new clinical milestone with the successful completion of over 150 complex spine cases, performed with the Renaissance® system, by Dr. Kornelis Poelstra, at Sacred Heart Hospital Emerald Coast in Florida.

“Mazor Robotics’ Renaissance® system changes the paradigm by removing the guess work in pedicle screw placement,” said Dr. Poelstra. “Its precision and versatility makes it my solution of choice for my complex spine cases both open and minimally invasive. I am very pleased to report that my 160 patients are doing great.”

This achievement complements Dr. Poelstra’s ongoing work with the Mazor Robotics PROlat™ release. PROlat is an application for the Renaissance system in which single position surgery in lateral access spine procedures is facilitated. This technique may result in a shorter length of surgery, which is beneficial to the patient, the surgeon, and the hospital facility.

We are excited to help surgeons improve spine care By leading the way in the transition from free-hand operations to blue-printed mechanical guided procedures, we help both the surgeon community and most importantly the patients. It is a very exciting time for our organization

Mazor Robotics will be exhibiting the PROlat application at the upcoming American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons (AAOS) 2016 Annual Meeting, in Orlando, Florida. (#767).
